Site Prep & Grading

Every foundation, slab and steel building sits on the dirt work under it. We build pads that are graded, compacted and drained, so what goes on top stays level for years, not just until the next heavy rain.

Quick answer

Streamline Construction Services handles site prep and grading for homes, shops, steel buildings, slabs and commercial sites in the Shoals and North Alabama. Typical site prep takes 3 to 14 days. The work covers clearing, cut and fill, compaction, drainage and final grade so water runs away from the structure.

How we do it

Done right underneath.

  1. Set the grade

We figure out where the water needs to go before we move any dirt.

  2. Cut and fill

High spots come down, low spots get filled with the right material.

  3. Compact

Fill goes in lifts and gets packed, so the pad doesn't settle later.

  4. Final grade

The finished surface sheds water away from where you're building.

Questions we get

What does site prep include?

Clearing, cut and fill, compaction, drainage and final grading. In short, everything that has to happen to the ground before a foundation, slab or building goes in.

How long does site prep take?

Usually 3 to 14 days. Size, how much fill is needed and the weather all move that number.

Do you supply the fill dirt and chert?

Yes. We run our own dirt and chert pit, which keeps material cost down on site work.

Do you do commercial site work?

Yes. We've graded commercial pads and done site work at a school stadium, along with residential pads.
